YozMaz is pleased to share with you another facet of Dave Campbell’s adventures into electronic music. This 2 tracker by Greenback continues Dave’s addictive audio journey, exploring a jazzy tinged, techno-influenced drum and bass style.
Originally released on vinyl in 1997 by Inertia Records, Greenback is yet another moniker for Dave while he was teamed up with Klute (of Commercial Suicide Records fame) as Phume. Together they produced ground breaking early DnB beats for Crammed Discs, Selector, Language and Certificate 18 labels.
To quote the original press release: “Resist is hedonistic, uptempo, sample-heavy, breakbeat-techno-drum & bass using one of those vocal licks that you think you've heard before but you can't be sure. While Double Zero is more experimental, built around two breaks, one half-time hip hop style, the other double-time jungle style. The result is 80 bpm trip-hop or 160 bpm drum and bass, whichever way your ears work! “
